Who we are

We are documenting key indicators of water health (link to Data page) in Piedmont’s creeks.

This data will help the community track whether Piedmont’s waterways are improving or degrading over time. Residents will better understand how daily choices — like diverting stormwater from roofs, picking up dog waste, or avoiding fertilizers — directly affect creek health. It will help us all understand our town as a living ecosystem rather than land, houses, and storm drains beneath our streets. It will also help the City evaluate whether current protections and investments are actually working.

We hope to institutionalizing this monitoring project and ultimately answer the big question: could Piedmont’s creeks ever again support aquatic life?
