Who we are

We’re tracking the health of Piedmont’s creeks.

This data will help the Piedmont community track whether our creeks are improving or getting worse over time. Residents will better understand how their actions — like diverting stormwater from roofs or picking up dog waste and throwing it in the trash — affect creek health. It will help us all understand our town as a living ecosystem rather than land, houses, and invisible storm drains beneath our streets. It will also help the City evaluate whether current protections and investments are actually working.

We hope to institutionalize this monitoring project and ultimately answer the big question: could Piedmont’s creeks ever again support aquatic life?
